An entertaining event that seeks to acknowledge those organizations and individuals who have distinguished themselves within the Quebec wind sector over the past two years.

German Manufacturer Senvion Selects TechnoCentre éolien to Optimize Production of its Wind Turbines in Icing Conditions

  • Over the next three years and in partnership with Senvion Canada, the TechnoCentre éolien (TCE), college centre for technology transfer in wind energy affiliated with the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles, will carry out a project that aims to optimize the control function of Senvion MM wind turbines in icing conditions. The objective consists of maximizing energy production while minimizing risk to the structural integrity of the turbine and its components. The total value of this project is $1,183,985.

This important North American event, which is being held in Toronto in the framework of the Canadian Wind Energy Association's (CanWEA) 31st Annual Conference and Exhibition, allows participating companies to carve out a place in new markets and to demonstrate their expertise as related to the wind industry.

  • Today marks the start of the 9th Quebec Wind Energy Conference organized by the TechnoCentre éolien (TCE). Under the theme "Driven by Wind!", the event will continue through June 17 at the Gaspé Peninsula Conference Centre located in Carleton-sur-Mer. With over 225 participants from Quebec and the rest of Canada and Europe, the Quebec Wind Energy Conference is undoubtedly the largest French-language wind industry event in North America.

  • Four Quebec-based businesses specializing in wind turbine operation and maintenance are delighted upon their return from the trade mission organized by the TechnoCentre éolien and the ACCORD Wind Energy Cluster within the framework of the American Wind Energy Association's (AWEA) O&M and Safety Seminar. Results of the Call for Tenders for 450 MW of Wind Energy: Quebec Wind Sector Demonstrates Competitiveness

  • The TechnoCentre éolien favourably welcomes the results of the call for tenders for the purchase of a block of 450 MW of wind energy announced by Hydro-Québec. With an average price of 6.3 ¢/kWh (plus 1.3 ¢/kWh for transmission costs), the three projects retained, which total 446.4 MW, demonstrate beyond a doubt that the Quebec wind energy industry is highly competitive.

  • The winners of the 4th Quebec Wind Energy Industry Gala presented by EDF Énergies nouvelles were honoured this evening with 320 people in attendance from the Quebec wind power sector. This gala, which was held under the theme The 20s, designated wind farm developer Boralex Inc. Enterprise of the Year, while Helmut Herold, CEO North America for Senvion Canada Inc., was named Personality of the Year. Seven other companies were also recognized during this biannual award ceremony.
