TechnoCentre éolien Supports Quebec Technological Innovation

  • The TechnoCentre éolien's technical expertise and infrastructures designed for research in real-world conditions have been put to use to allow for a breakthrough in the Quebec wind industry. More specifically, the TechnoCentre éolien (TCE) has successfully tested the Lighting Intensity Dimming Solution (LIDSTM) developed by Technostrobe. The tests carried out by TCE will now allow Technostrobe, which is based near Montréal, to commercialize this technological innovation and position the Quebec industry as a leader in the management of the visual impact of wind farm lighting.

  • The TechnoCentre éolien and the Wind Energy Cluster can say "Mission accomplished!" The ten companies that participated in the trade mission held on the sidelines of the Canadian Wind Energy Association's (CanWEA) Annual Conference and Exhibition benefited from a personalized business marketing and networking service that allowed them to enter into contact with some of the most important wind energy clients in North America. A total of 105 business meetings were organized.

  • In collaboration with the Wind Energy Cluster, the TechnoCentre éolien (TCE) is accompanying a delegation of ten Quebec-based companies as part of a trade mission that will take place in Calgary from November 1 to 3. This mission which is being put together by the two organizations will be carried out at the Canadian Wind Energy Association's (CanWEA) Annual Conference and Exhibition. The TechnoCentre éolien shares its expertise with companies within the wind sector in order to help develop the export market.

A Collaboration Agreement to Support Energy Transition in the Magdalen Islands

  • The Centre de recherche sur les milieux insulaires et maritimes (CERMIM) and the TechnoCentre éolien (TCE) are signing a collaboration agreement aiming to share expertise to support the energy transition underway in the Magdalen Islands. In an international context in which the energy transition of off-grid systems is beginning to take shape, considerable expertise will be needed to meet the associated challenges on these grids that are generally remote, if not completely isolated from large urban centres.

TechnoCentre éolien receives $4.6M in financial aid for its research program on renewable energy integration

  • The TechnoCentre éolien (TCE), a designated college centre for technology transfer (CCTT) affiliated with the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles (CGÎ), is a proud recipient of a significant financial package in support of its research program on the intelligent integration of renewable energy and storage technologies in microgrids. This program, which will last five years (2016-2021), will benefit from financial support in the amount of $4.6M from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) and the Government of Quebec. Participating businesses will also be helping to finance this program in the context of various research projects.

  • The TechnoCentre éolien (TCE) is proud of the trust shown by the federal government in the form of a financial contribution of three million dollars announced today by Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED).   • Last night, the 5th Quebec Wind Energy Industry Gala presented by SIEMENS honoured the organizations and individuals who have made particularly outstanding contributions to Quebec's wind sector over the past two years. The Ohmega Group Inc., from the town of Gaspé, made a splash by grabbing four out of the nine awards, including Enterprise of the Year. Organized as part of the 10th Quebec Wind Energy Conference, the event was a resounding success, with over 250 attendees who, owing to the "Night at the Oscars" theme, showed up for the occasion in their fashionable best.

German Manufacturer Senvion Selects TechnoCentre éolien to Optimize Production of its Wind Turbines in Icing Conditions

  • Over the next three years and in partnership with Senvion Canada, the TechnoCentre éolien (TCE), college centre for technology transfer in wind energy affiliated with the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles, will carry out a project that aims to optimize the control function of Senvion MM wind turbines in icing conditions. The objective consists of maximizing energy production while minimizing risk to the structural integrity of the turbine and its components. The total value of this project is $1,183,985.
